Atlanta Trip February 7-11, 2022 – Center for Puppetry Arts

We decided to take a visit to the Center for Puppetry Arts which has been around since 1978 but Tom had no clue it was there during his Olympic visit. After a quick subway (MARTA) ride we had a nice stroll to the center where we learned about the history of puppetry and saw an entire wing dedicated just to Jim Henson and the Muppets.

On the Muppets side of the exhibit we see Rowlf the Dog holding the sheet music to “Lydia, The Tattooed Lady”. This puppet was used in IBM Meeting Films, Purina Dog Chow commercials, and on The Jimmy Dean Show.
Alicia standing next to King Goshposh used in the Muppet film Hey Cinderella.
Tom next to Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch.
Alicia enjoying her memories of watching Splurge.
Pigs in Space puppets.
Scooter and Mahna Mahna puppets.
Can’t forget about Kermit the Frog.
